At the end of each school year, teachers and administrators come together to assess what our students need for the best educational experience possible. Although students have access to rigorous courses, athletics, and extracurricular opportunities, there are always creative outlets that students still crave.
When reflecting on my own high school experience, I realized that my favorite part about Maine West High School, where I attended, was the unmatched school pride we had. This sense of school pride was encapsulated in our school newspaper and our yearbooks, which I still cherish and look back on today.
The 4 years that students spend in high school fly by. Every experience will one day become a distant memory, but carving out a space for such memories helps us to never forget the 4 years we spent preparing for the rest of our lives.
So, we hope you join us as we launch our student-led news site and build Speer’s best yearbook yet. We’re happy you’re here.
